Eco-Design as the Tool for Decreasing the Impact of Electrical/Electronics Technology on Environment
Keywords: eco-design, tools for eco-design, environment protection
The impact of industry on the environment has increased dramatically. This paper deals with basic approaches in order to address environmental problems and implement the tools for eco-design application in the electric/electronic design praxis. This area is very important especially for electronic product assembly designers, because about 80% of all product-related environmental effects are determined during the product design period. Hence, it is critically important to consider environmental aspects as integral part of product design, which has continuity with economical result.
