Thermal Management in the Renewable Energy Market
Keywords: renewable energy, photovoltaics, energy storage
With the price of fossil fuels escalating, the race is on to develop renewable energy at a competitive price point. Photovoltaics, fuel cells, wind and many more are racing to bring the price of ‘green’ energy down to where it is comparable to more traditional energy sources. Each of these renewable energy sources has its own unique challenges, yet thermal management plays a role in several of the market leaders. This emerging market holds the potential for strong, sustained growth. In this presentation, the speaker examines the market opportunity for thermal management solutions in the renewable energy field. The particular thermal management challenges of photovoltaics, fuel cells, and batteries and storage solutions are described. Market drivers and needs are addressed in detail.
