Compact Square Patch Antenna for Mobile Application

In this paper we have designed a square patch antenna for IEEE 802.11a (5.725GHz~5.825GHz) frequency band. The antenna was designed by using L slots method. Through this configuration, we can achieve a larger bandwidth and we designed antenna by using computer simulation program SONNET software and then some tuning followed with measurements. The characteristics of input impedance, Phase angle, Magnitude response, Q factor and VSWR calculated. Especially, this patch antenna designed only for the mobile communication.
