|This paper will present PROMETHEUS Reference Design that implements a 2Amps Power Driver with proven CISSOID products as active components. PROMETHEUS aims providing a reliable solution for driving High Temperature Power Devices (e.g. Silicon Carbide Transistors) used in Switched Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) or Motor Drives. It targets highly demanding applications requiring reliable and continuous operation at 200°C and above, like for aerospace actuators or hybrid cars electrical motors. This Power Driver includes a linear voltage regulator that supplies high-side and low-side drivers as well as control logic. High-side and low-side drivers are part of a full bridge driver chip, including bootstrap capability and a charge-pump for 100% duty cycle operation, and are driving a push-pull stage made of two n-channel MOSFET’s. 74HC-like digital gates, recently introduced by CISSOID to fill the gap for basic high temperature logic functions, are implementing the non-overlap control logic to avoid short-circuit currents through the push-pull power output stage. PROMETHEUS can sink and source currents up to 2Amps at a supply voltage from 11V up to 30V. A switching frequency as high as 500KHz has been demonstrated on a 30nF output load at an ambient temperature of 200°C.|
