|Transmit/receive (T/R) modules are used in radar and communication phased arrays. A few of the applications are military airborne radar, commercial air traffic control, satellites and various ground based radar systems. The majority of the cost and performance of a phased array radar are determined by the T/R module. Several methods have been developed to design and build them. We will first review a few examples of T/R modules such as the brick and tile array methods. We will conclude with current developments and technology innovations for light weight space based and air vehicle phased arrays currently in development.|
