AUTHOR (SANJEEV GUPTA) WITHDREW 9-12-11: Creation of an AMI model in not well established across semiconductor industry and presents unique challenges to IC's vendor. The process requires expertise across multiple domains and is not well documented. In addition to SERDES modeling, the component vendor also require expertise to build component library within an EDA tools. This paper will showcase the generation of an AMI model from start to finish. The first section of this paper deals with SERDES transmitter and receiver representation using behavioral models and SPICE generated data. The second section showcase the process of taking SERDES representation and converting into an AMI models. The last section deals with the AMI model verification against measured data.
