Characteristics of High Temperature Switch Mode Power Supplies
Keywords: Switch Mode Power Supply, Transformer, Simulation and Measurement
High temperature switch mode power supplies (SMPS) typically use transformers with much lower permeability than those used for commercial or industrial SMPS systems. The design characteristics of these low permeability transformers are discussed, simulated in SPICE with Jiles-Atherton models and measurements are presented for a single forward based design.
