|Temperature Compensated Bandpass Filters in LTCC|

|Low temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) is a multilayer 3D packaging, interconnection, and integration technology. For LTCC modules targeting at radio and microwave frequency applications, a low or near 0 ppm/°C temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (Tf) ensures temperature stability of embedded strip resonators and filters. The base dielectrics of most commercial LTCC systems have a f in the range -50 to -80 ppm/°C. This presentation will showcase a technology to achieve localized zero f on embedded resonators by cofiring compensating dielectrics with an opposite f to that of the host dielectric in a multilayer LTCC structure. Proof-of-concept L- and S-band filters were fabricated and characterized to demonstrate the temperature stability.|
