Room-Temperature Ceramic Nanocoating Using Nanosheet Deposition Technique

Inorganic nanosheets are interesting nano-building blocks that can be used as a ceramic analogue of graphene. Here, we present a novel ceramic coating using oxide nanosheets. A layer-by-layer engineering approach for oxide nanosheets promises unique possibilities in designing new thin-film architectures in ceramic coating. We utilized oxide nanosheets as a building block in solution-based ceramic coating, and successfully developed various functional nanofilms such as transparent conducting films, high-k dielectrics, transparent magnetic films, and so on.
