|As High Power Laser Diodes for Pump - as well as for Direct- applications keep increasing their output power to keep lowering the $/W costs they require coolers which provide lower Rth at lower costs. For industrial applications a high life time is essential as well as a reliable, stable, high quality production process.We report on coolers for single laser diode arrays with a Rth of 0.24 (m2K)/W. They are electrically insulated from the cooling water and provide a reliable solution for volume production. They are allowing the laser diode array to run at a Junction temperature of 65°C at 250W of dissipated power on a foot print of 10mm x 4mm. The packaging allows for direct mounting onto the heatsink without submount required. The cooler is CTE matched and allows the semiconductor a low stress window of operation.The coolers allow for a compact packaging that will generate ~2kW of optical power out of module sized ~ 100mm x 100mm x 40mm. Extensive simulations were done to optimize the inner structure of the cooler and fit it to the requirements..|
