In Memoriam: Donald T. DeCoursey

Donald T. DeCoursey died Sunday, June 3, 2001. He was 72 years old.

Mr. DeCoursey was born in Plainfield, NJ and was raised in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated in 1954 from Alfred University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ceramic Engineering and attended Rutgers University and University of Delaware Graduate Schools of Business.

He married Joan V. Sullivan in 1954. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1956. He joined the DuPont Company in 1956 as a ceramic engineer at the Perth Amboy, NJ plant in the Ceramic Products Division of the Electrochemicals Department. He held various Technical Sales and marketing positions in the U.S., Frankfurt, Germany and Geneva, Switzerland as Division Director - Electronic Materials - Europe. He was a charter member, Fellow and Past President of the International Society for Hybrid Microelectronics. He was a Past President of the Montchan Maintenance Corporation and The Ocean Village Community Association in Bethany Beach, DE, where he had a summer home for many years. His wife, Joan V. and His son, Peter A. predeceased him. His survivors include his sons, David T. of Wilmington, DE and Stephen P. of Westborough, MA; a grandson, Timothy P. and granddaughter, Catherine Claire. He enjoyed music, concerts, theatre and good food and wine said Jane Fox, His friend and companion.

The family suggests contributions to the Delaware Community Foundation for the Peter A. DeCoursey Junior Achievement Scholarship Fund.
