CALIFORNIA ORANGE CHAPTER - The California Orange Chapter of IMAPS was the host chapter for the IMAPS SoCal ’01 Symposium and Exhibition. The 2-Day event was held May 15-16 at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California. The SoCal event was held in conjunction with The Second Annual NEPP Conference on Electronic Parts, Packaging and Radiation Characterization for Space Applications and featured Technical Sessions (over 60 papers) and 74 Tabletop. This year’s technical program featured sessions on Packaging for Extreme Environments, High Density Packaging and Interconnection Technology, Advanced Electronics Materials, Radiation Characterization, Microelectronics Reliability, Advanced Manufacturing Processes, Quality and Reliability, and Embedded Passives. This Regional Symposium drew over 400 attendees! Thanks to all who supported and attended this year’s Symposium and Exhibition. GARDEN STATE CHAPTER The Garden State Chapter of IMAPS held its Spring Packaging Symposium and Vendors Day on Wednesday, May 23. The event was held in the Arnold Auditorium, Lucent Technologies/Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, New Jersey. The event featured 3 technical sessions and 27 vendor tables. The technical sessions covered Packaging Consortia and Government Programs, Low-Temperature Co-Fired Ceramics and Packaging Materials. The Chapter would like to thank all those who made this year’s Symposium and Vendors Day a success. NEW ENGLAND CHAPTER The New England Chapter of IMAPS held its 28th Annual Symposium & Exhibition on Tuesday, May 8. The event was held at the Boxborough Woods Conference Center in Boxborough, Massachusetts. Over 250 people attended the full day event, which featured a Technical Symposium (30 papers), Luncheon, 60+ Vendor Tables, Poster Papers and free hors d’oeuvres for all attendees. The attendees were treated to a Robotics Demonstration of HUSKY 4, a low-wheeled robot assembled by local high school and college engineering students as well as a visit from former Boston Bruins Superstar, Terry O’Reilly.
