LASERAGE Wins 2001 President’s Award

Rockwell Collins selected Laserage Technology of Waukegan, Il. as winner of the 2001 President’s Award and the Connector Commodity Co-Supplier award. The presentations were made at Rockwell Collins’ Annual Supplier Conference on April 24th. The Rockwell Collins President’s Award is chosen from a field of 1200 vendors and recognizes Laserage’s ongoing efforts to “Focus on Excellence” in all areas of their business.


LAMBDA PHYSIK AG Extends Executive Board

The Supervisory Board of Lambda Physik AG has appointed Mr. Jürgen Heukäufer to be the fourth member of the Executive Board and Chief Operating Officer effective May 1, 2001. Before his assignment at Spectris AG, a technology holding, Heukäufer was responsible for Operations for Lecroy, a high-tech manufacturer of measurement technology. From 1994 to 1997 he was responsible for the development of the European market as General Manager for Lecroy. His professional experience has included assignments in finance, sales and service fields for international companies such as Toshiba and ITT in both Germany and other countries.

INDIUM Establishes Germanium Corp. of America®

Indium Corp. of America® has acquired the Germanium processing technology and equipment from the Performance Materials division of Cabot Corp. The new venture will operate under the name of Germanium Corporation of America®, a division of Indium. Production of germanium compounds began May, 2001, at the company’s Utica, NY, manufacturing facility.

Conlon Named COO of PALOMAR

Kevin Conlon has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer at Palomar Technologies. Conlon joined Palomar in 1997 as Vice President, Sales and Marketing.

Prior to joining Palomar, Conlon spent 18 years in the Silicon Valley where he held a number of management and executive positions. He holds a B.S. in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.

Weihe Joins K&S

Gary Weihe, Ph.D., has joined Kulicke and Soffa as Director of Strategic Marketing. Weihe is well known in the packaging community. His background includes 22 years of industry experience in product marketing, sales, application engineering and development of advanced materials and microelectronics products. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California San Diego.

MICROSCREEN Has New Rep in Puerto Rico

MicroScreen has announced that International Process and Equipment Supply, North Palm Beach, Florida, is the company’s new and exclusive agent for Puerto Rico. Andres Torres will direct the operation and will be responsible for the sales and service of Etch Guard stencils in Puerto Rico.
