Dr. Harry K. Charles, Jr., to Lead Space Research Team
Dr. Harry K. Charles, Jr., Assistant Department Head for Engineering at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab has been named Team Leader for the Technology Development Team of the National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI).
     Dr. Charles will manage scientists from six institutions working on eight NSBRI technology projects. The team focuses on developing devices and systems to improve research techniques and medical care on the ground and in space.

Semi Dice’s Annual Bare Die Survey Receives Top Honors for Program Excellence
More than 200 public relations professionals gathered on December 5 in Philadelphia for the 33rd Annual Pepperpot and Achievement Awards ceremony. Semi Dice, Inc., a leader in bare die distribution and processing, walked away with top honors in the Special Public Relations Program category for the Annual Bare Die Survey. Presented by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), this annual program recognizes excellence and creativity in public relations.

Dixon Joins LOCTITE as Product Manager
Douglass Dixon has joined Loctite and Product Manager, Solder Materials, and is responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the company’s Multicore® line of solder materials in the North, South, and Latin America. Mr. Dixon has more than 12 years of experience. Prior to joining Loctite he was a Product Manager at Universal Instruments and in application engineering at Camelot. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Utah.

MICROSCREEN Announces New Rep
Robinson Associates has been appointed the exclusive agent for Upstate New York and Western Pennsylvania by MicroScreen. It will be responsible for the sales and service of both EtchGuard stencils and screens for thick film printing.

GSI Lumonics Appoints Al DaSilva
Al DaSilva is the new VP of Worldwide Service and Support at GSI Lumonics. His responsibility is to provide customers with reliable, accessible, and timely support and service. DaSilva has more than 20 years experience in the industry and has performed as a service engineer and a technical writer as well as developing and managing departments. He has set up businesses in Asia/Pacific and Europe.

FeinFocus USA and Siemans Dematic have announced a joint technology alliance working to develop and control advanced SMT manufacturing processes utilizing off line Microfocus X-ray technology.

Jon Medernach joins MRSI as East Coast Sales Manager
MRSI is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Medernach as East Coast Sales Manager. Jon will provide sales support to customers east of the Mississippi river.
     Jon brings over 18 years of equipment sales experience ranging from hybrid microelectronics, semiconductor to surface mount. He comes to us from Panasonic Factory Automation where he worked with the Create Group concentrating in wire and die bonding equipment. Well known in the industry, Jon is an IMAPS and SMTA member and was a speaker at the APEX 2001 Forum.
