IMAPS Society Awards - Call for Nominations
Greg Caswell
Every year, at this time, we ask you to recognize those IMAPS members who have given their time, energy, and expertise to ensure the excellence of our industry by nominating them for one of our prestigious awards. Whether they demonstrate this dedication by the excellent technical work they do, volunteer their time at the chapter level, or become active in national and international activities, it is vital to maintaining the high quality of our endeavors. We would not be the strong international society we are if it were not for all of these efforts. Now we have the opportunity to let them know that we value their dedication and that their hard work has not gone unnoticed.
The four individual awards presented annually are: the Daniel D. Hughes, Jr. Memorial Award; the William D. Ashman Memorial Achievement Award; the John A. Wagnon Technical Achievement Award, and Fellow of the Society Award.
The Corporate Recognition Award is the highest honor IMAPS bestows to the Corporate Members that have made beneficial contributions to our Society and the microelectronics and packaging industries.
The 2003 Awards Nominating Committee is actively seeking nominations for the awards listed above. Nominees for each award are evaluated by their respective Selection Committee, which is made up of past award recipients.
Criteria for each award can be found on-line at
Why is it important for you to participate in the award’s process? Primarily it provides recognition to your colleagues for their contributions to our industry and Society. The Society’s awards program can be a great program, only if we recognize those individuals who contribute to the society and our technologies. You are the key to making this a great program. The Awards Committee can only do so much without your help and input. Your involvement in the award’s recognition program may also be the first step in becoming more involved in the society. Just as the award’s program can only be great with your involvement, the society needs your involvement as well.
Nominations must be received by April 15, 2003. Nomination Forms can be found at
or by contacting Douglas Paul at IMAPS headquarters, dpaul@imaps.org. You may submit nominations to your Chapter President, Regional Director, or you may send them to me personally.
