We cordially invite you to attend the 42nd International Symposium on Microelectronics (IMAPS 2009) which will be held in San Jose, CA, on November 1 - 5, 2009. The student programs listed below are designed to provide students with technical information, industry insight, and valuable connections. Student members can take advantage of a reduced registration fee. Please see www.imaps.org/imaps2009/index.htm for more information on symposium programs.

Professional Development Course (PDC) Monitor:
Students have the opportunity to serve as a PDC Monitor and attend the course free of charge. Monitor must be a full time student and are assigned on a first-come basis. Sign up early by e-mailing Jackki Morris-Joyner (jmorris@imaps.org) with your top three choices no later than October 1st.
Student Paper Competition:
Student authors will deliver paper presentations throughout the Symposium. Presentations will be evaluated on technical content, presentation skills, the written manuscript, and audience interaction. Winning students will receive cash prizes, a certificate, and recognition in Advancing Microelectronics magazine.
Student Chapter Booth Competition:
| Student chapters are encouraged to have a complimentary booth and exhibit on the main floor. These booths allow students and chapters to demonstrate their activities to the microelectronics industry. Student booths will be evaluated by a panel of judges on various criteria. Winning chapter booths will receive cash prizes, certificates, and magazine recognition. Please contact Steve Greene (sgreene@imaps.org) for more information or to reserve your complimentary booth. Booth judging will be on Tuesday, November 3rd, 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. |

Student Chapter Meeting:
Gain more insight and share your success on increasing membership and producing better programs with other student chapter leaders. Learn ways to gain more chapter funding. Join in on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm.
Student Industry Panel/Reception:
This will provide students both career development advice and industry insight from leading professionals. Industry leaders and professional engineers will describe and discuss how their education, interests, and career experiences led to successful careers. Students will also learn current industry expectations and what they should be doing now for their long-term career development. A reception will immediately follow where students will have the opportunity to talk directly with the industry panelists and other leaders. Join us on Tuesday, November 3rd, 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Student Plant Tour:
Students have the opportunity to visit Cisco headquarters and speak with senior engineers and scientists during informative briefings. The tour will highlight the Cisco TelePresence Center and how it uses microelectronics and telecommunications technologies to lead the way in intelligent networks. Register on-line. The plant tour is set for Wednesday, November 4th.

Employment Center:
The Employment Center will offer job seekers valuable complimentary services. Center volunteers will post job openings, collect and forward resumes for these postings, and help schedule interviews at the employer’s request. Tuesday, November 3rd - Wednesday, November 4th.
