:: Anaren, Inc.’s Wireless Connectivity Group announced that it has launched version 1.2 of its recently introduced Anaren Atmosphere online development platform

Anaren, Inc.’s Wireless Connectivity Group announced that it has launched version 1.2 of its recently introduced Anaren Atmosphere online development platform. Originally launched in January 2015, with a follow-on 1.1 version introduced in April of 2015, Anaren Atmosphere affords embedded developers a range of online development tools that greatly ease such tasks as code-authoring and mobile app coding for connecting embedded products to mobile devices – or the IoT – using the company’s Broadcom-based AIR for WICED Bluetooth® Smart module. With each new version, the company seeks to respond to user feedback, expand functionality, and enrich user experiences with the platform.

“Only six months after Anaren Atmosphere’s original launch and three months after our 1.1 enhancements, our latest iteration of Atmosphere continues to break new ground in making life – and access to the IoT – easier for embedded developers of all sophistication levels,” said Mark Bowyer, Anaren’s Director of Wireless Business Development. “From making it easier to wirelessly connect ST Microelectronics sensors to your project through our new element library -- to a more intuitive and aesthetically pleasing interface -- Atmosphere 1.2 raises the already high bar we’ve set for development tools in the IoT space.

The latest from Nordson-Asymtek

Nordson ASYMTEK Wins Two Technology Innovation Awards for its Quantum Fluid Dispensing System
Nordson ASYMTEK, earned two prestigious awards for innovative technology during NEPCON China 2015: the Innovation Award from Electronics Manufacturing (EM) Asia and the VISION Award from SMT China magazine. The awards were presented for achievement in product excellence in the dispensing equipment category for Nordson ASYMTEK's Quantum® automated fluid dispensing system. Nordson ASYMTEK products have received these awards for nine straight years.

Nordson ASYMTEK's Quantum® fluid dispenser has a large 423x458mm dispense area, but performs with the same speed, high-precision, and closed-loop process controls that usually can only be found in smaller dispensers. The platform handles a wide range of substrate sizes and fluids, enabling dual-lane and dual-valve dispensing, thereby increasing throughput and productivity. The system comes complete with advanced features like a laser height sensor for fast, non-contact dispense height measurement, a digital vision system for superior image contrast and detection, patented Calibrated Process Jetting™ software to automatically compensate for changes in fluid viscosity, and Fids-on-the-Fly™ software that captures fiducials faster than stop-and-capture mode for higher units per hour. An integrated weight scale in combination with patented process control maintains consistent fluid delivery and improves production yield.

"The Chinese electronics market plays an integral role in our Nordson ASYMTEK business and product development strategy," said Peter Bierhuis, president, Nordson ASYMTEK. "We have had facilities and personnel in China for many years and continue to expand there. Many of our new, innovative products have been designed to fit the demands of the Chinese marketplace, as can be shown by the recognition of our products with these awards. We are pleased that our new Quantum system was selected as the best new dispensing product. Nordson ASYMTEK's goal is to be at the forefront of innovation, continually developing new technologies, quality products, and providing the service and support our customers need to stay competitive now and in the future."

The EM Asia Innovation Award recognizes top performing companies in the Asian electronics industry for achieving the highest standards for products, materials, and equipment introduced and offered for sale in Asia. Entries were judged on innovation and achievement and for setting challenging objectives.

The SMT China VISION Award honors achievements in China's electronics manufacturing industry. Awards are based on the creativeness and innovativeness of the product and its contribution in helping the downstream industries to reduce cost, improve quality, increase efficiency, enhance reliability, improve safety, and environmental friendliness.

Both awards were presented at ceremonies held during NEPCON China, Shanghai, China, April 2015.

Nordson ASYMTEK's Spectrum II Automates Dispensing in the Manufacture of GN ReSound Hearing Aids
Nordson ASYMTEK, announces the sale of two Spectrum™ II S2-922 in-line dispensing systems to GN ReSound, one of the world's largest manufacturers of hearing healthcare solutions. GN ReSound, based in Ballerup, Denmark with production facilities in Præstø, Denmark, presently has an installed base of off-line Nordson ASYMTEK coating systems and Axiom™ X-1000 dispensers. The Spectrum II systems are being used as part of automated manufacturing production lines to apply underfill in the manufacture of hearing aids.

"We chose the Nordson ASYMTEK systems because we are familiar with the ASYMTEK brand and have found that their equipment gives us the required performance and flexibility for many different processes needed in conjunction with manufacturing hearing aid electronics," said Elvin Solberg, manufacturing engineering manager for GN ReSound. "Before, underfill was done manually off-line. Dispensing underfill in-line with the Spectrum II reduces manual handling and gives a more uniform result, a more efficient SMD manufacturing process, and better yield."

Nordson ASYMTEK's award-winning Spectrum II dispensing platform is a high-speed, high-accuracy precision dispensing system for microelectronics, semiconductor, MEMS, and manufacturing/assembly applications. It has a small footprint, but accommodates dual valves, up to 6 heaters, and/or dual lane conveyance.

"Nordson ASYMTEK is proud to once again build upon our strong partnership with GN ReSound and have our award-winning Spectrum II dispensers chosen for their automated production line," said Nordson ASYMTEK's global account manager, Lars Nielsen. "The precision dispensing accuracy and application flexibility of the S2-922 made it the ideal choice for GN ReSound's advanced packaging processes."
